PETG Film

What is PETG?

PETG material is a kind of transparent plastic in brief, the full name is polyethylene terephthalate-1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol.

Is PETG a PET? What's the difference?

Does not belong. Compared with PET, PETG is more expensive.

Both can be applied to blister packaging, electronic product packaging, box windows, templates, partitions, printing, etc. But compared with PET, PETG has higher transparency, better chemical resistance, better oil resistance, and better weather (yellowing) resistance than PET.

Are there any advantages over PETG and acrylic?

The transparency of PETG is inferior to acrylic, and its toughness is higher than that of acrylic. The chemical resistance and impact resistance of PETG is better than that of crepe. PETG extruded sheets are usually 15 to 20 times tougher than general-purpose acrylic and 5 to 10 times tougher than impact-modified acrylic.

What is the difference between PETG and PC?

PETG has better light transmittance than PC and slightly worse toughness than PC, but higher than PET and PVC. Its maximum stretching ratio can reach 180%, and the use temperature of PETG products is lower than that of PC, generally not exceeding 75°C.

Can PETG be used for printing?

Yes. PETG has excellent surface decoration properties, it can be printed directly without surface treatment, and patterns can be easily pressed. Its 3D printed products have better effects and low printing difficulty. For other materials with the same mechanical properties, it is a "perfect" printing material.

Can PETG be used for blister packaging?

Yes. PETG blister packaging is non-toxic and has reliable hygienic performance. It can be used for packaging food, medicine, and medical equipment. The packaged items can be sterilized by Y-ray.

Can PETG material be attached to furniture panels to make furniture?

Yes. PETG material has excellent weather resistance. It can maintain the toughness of the product and prevent yellowing. It contains ultraviolet absorbers, which can be co-extruded into a protective layer to protect the board from the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays. The panel with PETG attached has better chemical resistance and can withstand common cleaning agents.
