Lignin-modified PBAT
Lignin is used as a by-product from the pulp and paper industry and biorefining, most of which is used as a low-cost fuel. Lignin is mainly limited by factors such as thermal instability, incompatibility with hydrophobic polymers, and brittleness, and needs to be modified. Filling PBAT with modified lignin to prepare environmentally friendly composite materials not only improves the practical value of lignin, but also reduces the cost of use while maintaining the high biodegradability of PBAT.
PBAT/lignosulfonic acid (LS) composites and PBAT/LS with MAH graft product (MLS) composites were prepared by melt blending. The results show that compared with ungrafted LS, MLS has better dispersibility, compatibility and thermal stability in the blend system; and the optimal mass fraction of MLS in PBAT is 10%, PBAT/MLS composite The tensile strength of the material is increased by 10%, and the elongation at break is increased by 29.1%.
PBAT/methylated lignin composites and PBAT/lignin composites compatibilized with PBAT-g-MAH were prepared by co-extrusion. The results showed that the two composites with a mass fraction of lignin of 60% exhibited better tensile properties; and the ductility and mechanical strength of PBAT/lignin films were affected by the mobility of lignin molecules and the size of their agglomerates. ;
At the same time, the P40/MP3/L60 composite membrane (the mass ratio of PBAT:MP:lignin is 40:3:60) can significantly reduce the production cost by 36% compared with the blank PBAT membrane.
PBAT/wood flour composite material was prepared by melt blending method, PBAT/wood flour composite foam material was prepared by molding foaming method with microsphere foaming agent, and PBAT/wood flour could still be prepared when the content of wood flour was 40 parts. Composite foam material, its apparent density is 0.212 g/cm3. The wood flour reduces the compressive strength of the foamed material. When the wood flour content increases to 30 parts, the compressive strength of the composite foamed material is not much different from that of the pure PBAT foamed material.
