Low-carbon healthy life, new fashion, free degradable plastic bag, helping environmental protection and public welfare

 

Recently, the vegetable cultivation and physiology innovation team of the Vegetable and Flower Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences found that applying PBAT/PLA humic acid biodegradable plastic film to tomato production in solar greenhouse can solve the problem of farmland residual film pollution and improve tomato quality. Relevant research results were published in the journal Environmental Science.

 

The residue of common polyethylene mulching film produced in the process of use will destroy the soil structure, lead to the decline of soil fertility, and cause a series of problems such as root development, yield reduction and environmental pollution. Therefore, the development and application of new biodegradable mulch film has become a research hotspot.

 

The researchers found that PBAT/PLA humic acid biodegradable mulch film (10 microns thick) was covered in the field for 131 days, and its degradation degree reached degradation level 2, and the surface of the mulch film showed obvious loose porous structure. Compared with polyethylene film, after covering with PBAT/PLA humic acid biodegradable film, tomato yield increased significantly, soluble solids, vitamin C, soluble sugar and lycopene of tomato increased significantly, and total acid and hardness decreased significantly.
