LA is an English shorthand for polylactic acid. It is written as polylactic acid.
Polylactic acid, also known as polypropylactide, belongs to the polyester family. Polylactic acid is a polymer obtained from the polymerization of lactic acid as the main raw material. The raw material source is sufficient and renewable. It mainly uses corn and cassava as raw materials. The production process of polylactic acid is pollution-free, and the product can be biodegraded to achieve circulation in nature, so it is an ideal green polymer material.
The thermal stability of polylactic acid is good, the processing temperature is 170 ~ 230 °C, and it has good solvent resistance. It can be processed in various ways, such as extrusion, spinning, biaxial stretching, and injection blowing. In addition to biodegradation, products made of polylactic acid have good biocompatibility, gloss, transparency, hand sensitivity, and heat resistance. They also have a certain degree of antibacterial, flame retardant, and anti-ultraviolet properties, so they are widely used. Can be used as packaging materials, fibers and non-woven creations, etc.. Currently, it is mainly used in clothing(underwear, coats)
