   Russia and other 6 countries are considering banning the import and production of single-use plastics.


   Baitong News Agency reported on July 21 that the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) intends to study a gradual ban on the import and production of single-use plastics, including plastic bags.


   The assistant to the chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) stated that the strategy for the further development of Eurasian integration by 2025 will prioritize improving energy conservation and energy efficiency, solving environmental problems, and ensuring sustainable development. In the future, the European Economic Community will also evaluate the impact of the introduction of carbon regulation on the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union, and prepare suggestions for mitigating this impact. EAEU member states include, namely Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia. Russia plans to push the ban on plastics from the legislative level, and the draft law on plastics restriction in Ukraine has been passed
