Flushable? 100% bamboo pulp! This company launches a new line of bio-based products
Nonwovens manufacturer Acme Mills has launched Natura, a new line of flushable and compostable wipes made from 100% bamboo pulp.
Recognizing the urgency of solving the problem of non-flushable wipes in municipal water systems, Acmemills has commissioned new state-of-the-art equipment to increase Natura's production capacity. With the launch of the 2.4m and 3.5m wide spunlace lines, the company says it is now well positioned to meet the growing demand for flushable wipes while maintaining the highest quality standards.
Natura is manufactured with 100% natural fibers from sustainable bamboo, known for its fast growth and minimal ecological impact.
The need for flushable alternatives has become especially urgent due to recent legislation in California and Europe. These regulations address the disposal of plastic personal hygiene wipes and are designed to minimize their impact on wastewater treatment systems. Natura says its solution addresses these issues by providing flushable wipes that are compatible with municipal water systems, reducing strain on infrastructure and minimizing the risk of environmental damage.
