Natureworks launches new grade PLA
On April 12, NatureWorks launched Ingeo 6500D for nonwovens, a new product combined with an optimized hydrophilic surface treatment technology to provide higher softness and strength, and improve fluid management.

Together with a custom surface treatment developed in partnership with fiber lubricant manufacturer Goulston Technologies, it can deliver lighter, thinner absorbent hygiene products that improve fluid management and breathability for better skin health. The inherent hydrophilicity of PLA makes nonwovens less demanding on surface finish and more durable than polypropylene. Immersion surface tension results and multi-strike performance were also significantly improved.
