"The raw material of traditional mulch film is synthetic polyethylene material, which is difficult to undergo photodegradation and thermal degradation under natural conditions, and it is not easy to be degraded by bacteria and enzymes. If the recycling is not delayed in the field, it will cause environmental pollution. In order to strengthen the pollution control of plastic film, the Sanya Agriculture and Rural Bureau and the Sanya Nanfan Research Institute of Hainan University have researched and promoted the use of fully biodegradable plastic film in recent years. On October 24, the Sanya Nanfan Research Institute of Hainan University sent the fully biodegradable plastic film to Nashou Village. According to statistics, there are 160 beneficiary farmers, covering 720 mu of melons and vegetables in winter.
On the surface, using traditional mulch is cost-effective. But after a careful calculation, it is more cost-effective to use biodegradable mulch. Under normal circumstances, ordinary mulch film costs only 140 yuan per mu, while biological mulch film costs 300 yuan per mu, but the recycling cost of ordinary mulch film per mu is about 300 yuan, and the fully biodegradable mulch film can also be turned into fertilizer in the cultivation soil. Comparing the two, in fact, the use of biodegradable plastic film can save more than 100 yuan per mu. The most important thing is environmental protection, which solves the problem of traditional plastic film pollution.
