SCPL expands production of bio-based chemicals in Indonesia
Sinarmas Cepsa Pte Ltd (SCPL) and its parent company CEPSA's chemicals business and agribusiness Golden Agri-Resources (GAR) have signed an agreement to expand production of bio-based chemicals at SCPL's plant in Lubuk Gaung, Indonesia. The factory is ideally located to serve customers worldwide and the existing facility, which started production in 2017, is fully utilized.
SCPL has grown steadily along the fatty alcohols value chain, with sustainability at the core of its strategy and operations. The global demand for fatty acids and natural alcohols is driven by growing demand for home and personal care products, as well as sustainable bio-based solutions across the various industries served by SCPL.
The expansion is expected to advance SCPL's growth strategy, contribute to addressing environmental challenges including climate change, and support sustainable agricultural practices in Indonesia. This incremental production will generate additional employment and economic benefits for local communities before final investment decisions are made.
