How to distinguish real and fake cornstarch tableware?  

 

1. The distinction is very simple and can be divided into three aspects:

 

A. Visual observation means that the starch-based product is a matte product with some light yellow or milky white. Instead of starch-based products, the color is dark or bluish-white.

 

B. Odor discrimination: starch products have a light corn paste smell or plant fragrance and other products have a plastic smell after similar products rub against each other to generate heat.

 

C. Combustion identification, that is, the two types of products burn with red flames as starch and blue flames as other types. The ash after combustion is crushed by hand and the black powder is starch-type products, and the powder with lighter powder is other types of products.

 

2. The main components are low molecular weight such as carrier resin, corn starch, coupling agent, sizing agent, solvent and so on.

 

3. Floating objects may be caused by two situations

 

A. The amount of lubricant added is too large and the residue is not completely devolatilized during the processing, so that the residue is deposited on the surface of the product.

 

B. Inorganic substances such as talc. Formed by excessive addition of heavy calcium.
