Main role of the compatibilizer
Most of the currently used compatibilizers are polymer compatibilizers.
The main role of the compatibilizer:
1. Reduce the surface tension between the two polymers, promote the dispersion of the phase, and prevent the combination of the dispersed phase;
2. Increase the thickness of the interface layer, increase the cohesion between the phases, improve the thermal stability, and increase the stress transfer efficiency;
3. Reduce the particle size of the dispersed phase, form a stable phase structure, and provide uniform and stable performance for the material.
The mechanism of action of the compatibilizer:
The compatibilizing effect of the compatibilizer is essentially achieved by means of intermolecular bonding force, and can play a role similar to the surfactant used for oil dispersion in water.
Performance characteristics of degradable plastic compatibilizer:
1. Enhance the compatibility in the formulation system, assist in the formation of pellets, and increase the toughness and strength of pellets;
2. Increase the mechanical properties of the product such as toughness, tensile strength, and strength, and improve the gloss, light transmittance, and load-bearing resistance of the film;
3. By increasing the dispersibility and compatibility of the formulation system, the purpose of increasing the amount of filler, reducing the overall cost and improving part of the performance is achieved.
