Award winning work: FSC certified PLA coated rectangular paper lunch box
Enterprise: BioPak, Australia
Package type: food

Product Description:
Plastic takeaway lunch boxes cannot be recycled after they are contaminated with food. Placing them in the recycling box can endanger the entire recycling box. Even paper and cardboard contaminated with food cannot be recycled. Putting these in your recycling bin may mean that the entire batch of recycled material is contaminated and sent to the landfill.
Our paper lunch boxes do not contain plastic and are made of 100% FSC (Forest Management Commission, license code FSC c 110879) certified paper, lined with PLA bioplastics made from plants rather than petroleum. These paper takeaway containers are certified for industrial composting and comply with Australian standards (AS4736). Kraft paper containers are ideal for holding exothermic, spicy, and greasy foods without spoiling/cracking. Paper rectangular lid is suitable for foods up to 60 degrees. For hotter items, use a CPLA or PP cover.
So far, using biomass sheets, we can only use this method to create circular paper bowls, but using new machines and tools, we have been able to achieve rectangular shapes with circular paper bowl performance.
