What is PBS?

       Polybutylene succinate (PBS) is a high molecular compound with the structural formula of H - [O (CH2) 4ooc (CH2) 2CO] N-OH. It is a white semi crystalline polymer. It is easily soluble in chloroform, slightly soluble in tetrahydrofuran, and almost insoluble in water, methanol or ethanol. According to different molecular structures and molecular weights, the crystallinity range is 30% ~ 60% and the crystallization temperature is 75 ℃. Its structural unit contains ester groups that are easy to hydrolyze. Under the conditions of composting and other contact with specific microorganisms, it is easy to be decomposed and metabolized by a variety of microorganisms in nature or enzymes in animals and plants, and finally form CO2 and H2O to avoid polluting the environment. Among them, the chemical structure, molecular weight, morphological distribution, melting point and crystallinity of molecules have different effects on the degradation process


      Polybutylene succinate (PBS) is a thermoplastic resin with good processing properties. It can be molded on ordinary processing and molding equipment, and the processing temperature ranges from 140 to 260°C. The material must be dried before processing, and the moisture content must be below 0.02%.

      

      Polybutylene succinate (PBS) can be processed by molding methods such as injection molding, blow molding, blown film, suction molding, lamination, foaming, and spinning. 


      Polybutylene succinate (PBS) is a polymer with good biodegradability. Compared with biodegradable plastics such as polylactic acid, polyhydroxyalkanoate, and polycaprolactone, the price of PBS is relatively low. Excellent mechanical properties, good heat resistance, heat distortion temperature close to 100 ℃, is the focus of the research and development of biodegradable plastics at home and abroad.

      

      Polybutylene succinate (PBS) can be used as garbage bags, packaging bags, cosmetic bottles, various plastic cards, baby diapers, agricultural materials and drug slow-release carrier substrates, etc.; there are also other environmental protection related materials. Kinds of plastic products, such as nets and membranes for civil and greening. It can be used in packaging, tableware, cosmetic bottles and medicine bottles, disposable medical supplies, agricultural films, pesticide and fertilizer slow-release materials, biomedical polymer materials and other fields.
