Intime Department Store nationwide stores will use fully biodegradable express bags
Starting from this Tmall Double 11, Intime Department Store will launch "full biodegradable express bags" in stores nationwide. The first batch of "green courier bags" have recently arrived at the Hangzhou Wulin and Cultural Plaza stores of Intime Department Store and have been put into use, and will be gradually expanded to more than 60 stores across the country.
Different from traditional express bags, these newly launched "fully biodegradable express bags" use degradable materials such as PBAT+PLA+MD, which will be affected by the temperature, Humidity, minerals and microorganisms are completely decomposed into substances such as water, carbon dioxide and methane, minimizing environmental impact.
At present, there are generally two types of express packaging received by consumers on the market, corrugated boxes and plastic packaging bags. The main component of the latter is polyethylene, and its plastic particles are harmful to the environment and human body. Due to the difficulty of secondary utilization, these materials are generally sent to landfills or incinerated after use, which are difficult to degrade and produce a large amount of pollutants.
The harm of plastics is so huge that countries have successively introduced policies to ban and limit plastics to promote industrial upgrading. Recently, the State Post Bureau announced at a press conference in the fourth quarter of 2022 that by the end of 2025, postal express outlets nationwide will ban the use of non-degradable plastic packaging bags, plastic tapes, disposable plastic woven bags, etc. Plastic prohibition order".
Intime Department Store upgraded the "green express bag" this time. Industry experts said: "This move is at the forefront of the industry."
According to conservative estimates, after the full use of express bags, Intime Department Store can reduce the amount of plastic used in express packaging materials by nearly 150 tons throughout the year.
