How to scientifically use plastic film

The popularization and application of agricultural plastic film has played a positive role in increasing agricultural production and income in the capital. However, with the increase in the service life of plastic film, the pollution problem caused by improper use of plastic film and untimely recycling of plastic film has become more and more prominent. The scientific use of plastic film and the timely recycling of residual film are important measures to protect the agricultural ecological environment and promote the green development of agriculture.

Scientific use of mulch

Correct selection of mulching film:  The mulching film should be selected to meet the requirements of the "Polyethylene Blown Agricultural Ground Covering Film" (DB62/T 2443-2019) standard. The recommended thickness of the mulching film in autumn is 0.014mm and the weather resistance period is not less than 360d. or mechanical recycling. It is forbidden to use off-label (thickness less than 0.01mm) polyethylene mulch. According to the needs of crops and stubble, choose mulch films of different colors and functions.

Encourage the replacement of full biodegradable plastic film: Encourage the application of full biodegradable plastic film to replace ordinary plastic film, and promote the reduction at the source. The effective service life of the fully biodegradable agricultural mulch film needs to meet the crop growth and development cycle. It is recommended to use a fully biodegradable mulch film that complies with the "Full Biodegradable Agricultural Ground Cover Film" (GB/T35795-2017) standard. Among them, the recommended thickness of open field planting is 0.01mm; for protected field planting, according to the length of the crop cycle, the recommended thickness is 0.008mm-0.012mm.

Transportation, storage and lamination: sharp tools such as iron hooks should not be used during transportation and loading and unloading, and should not be thrown. During transportation, it shall not be exposed to sunlight or rain, shall not be mixed with sand, broken metal, coal and glass, and shall not be mixed with toxic, corrosive or flammable substances. The mulch should be stored in a clean, dry and cool warehouse, stacked neatly, and it is strictly forbidden to expose to the sun. Before using the mulch, it is necessary to carry out fine soil preparation. Hard objects such as straws remaining in the soil can easily pierce the mulch and affect the effect. When mulching, the mulch should not be pulled too much to prevent mechanical damage from affecting later recycling. The mulching requires that the surface of the mulch be flat and moderately tight. At the same time, it should be covered with soil and compacted to prevent strong winds from blowing.
