State Post Bureau: Biodegradable Packaging Accounts For 10.27% in The Postal And Express Delivery Industry

On January 30, the State Post Bureau held its routine press conference for the first quarter of 2026, reporting on the completion of the 2025 postal and express delivery industry's initiatives to better serve the people.

 

In 2025, the State Post Bureau promoted the construction of village-level comprehensive postal and logistics service stations according to local conditions, with the proportion of villages having established such stations reaching 80%; it continued to promote express delivery to villages, with the rate of direct-operated express delivery companies entering villages exceeding 90%, and the rate of franchised express delivery companies entering villages increasing to one-third.

 

The industry-wide packaging standardization rate reached 86.8%, tape width decreased by 25%, tape-free cardboard boxes accounted for 2.7%, biodegradable packaging accounted for 10.27%, the application rate of intra-city reusable packaging exceeded 10%, and over 1 billion cardboard boxes were recycled and reused.

 

The industry-wide application rate of privacy-protected waybills remained stable at over 99%.

 

192,000 employees actively participated in the 5th National Postal Industry Vocational Skills Competition, with 3,331 achieving higher vocational skill levels and 460 applying for various levels of technical expert awards and May Day Labor Medals. A standardized employment plan was formulated and issued, and a special action plan for labor contracts was deployed and promoted, basically clarifying the number of employees and their rights protection status in pilot areas.

 

In 2025, public satisfaction with express delivery services reached 85 points, an increase of 0.4 points year-on-year; the 72-hour delivery rate in key areas was 87.04%, an increase of 3.09 percentage points year-on-year, and the complaint rate decreased by 5.61 percentage points per million compared to the beginning of the year.

 

The level of direct postal service to administrative villages was further improved, with the proportion of deliveries five times or more per week reaching 88.67%, and the quality and efficiency of postal service to border villages becoming more stable.

 

The rural delivery vehicle rate increased to 68%, and there were over 480,000 postal village-level comprehensive convenience service stations.
