State Post Bureau: Express will ban non-degradable plastic bags
On October 14, the State Post Bureau held a regular press conference for the fourth quarter of 2022 to introduce the progress of the "9917" project for the green development of the postal express industry. At the meeting, Guan Aiguang, deputy director of the Market Supervision Department of the State Post Bureau, said that the over-packaging of mail and express mail will be comprehensively strengthened, and the national plastic pollution control work will be implemented to ensure that by the end of 2025, postal express outlets nationwide will ban the use of non-degradable plastic packaging bags. , plastic tape, disposable plastic woven bags, etc.
According to the State Post Bureau, as of the end of September, both the proportion of the industry-wide procurement and use of standard packaging materials and standardized packaging operations reached 90%, and a total of 9.78 million recyclable express boxes (boxes) have been placed in postal express delivery outlets. A total of 122,000 recycling devices were set up, and 640 million corrugated boxes were recycled and reused. Initial results were achieved in the green management of express packaging.
Guan Aiguang pointed out that compared with the requirements of high-quality development of the industry, there are still some shortcomings in the green governance of express packaging, such as the legal standard system covering the whole chain has not been established, the situation of co-management has not yet formed, and the information-based supervision methods are lagging behind.
