From June 1, two national standards in the field of degradable plastics, "Biodegradable Plastics and Products Degradation Performance and Labeling Requirements" and "Biodegradable Drinking Straws", will be officially implemented.
According to the official website of the State Administration for Market Regulation, the national standard "Requirements for Degradation Performance and Labeling of Biodegradable Plastics and Products" regulates terms and definitions such as biodegradation and biodegradation rate, and specifies requirements for degradation performance, labeling requirements and inspection methods. The release and implementation of this standard can regulate and guide the processing, production, use, sales and application of biodegradable plastics and products, and solve the problems of how to distinguish the authenticity of biodegradable plastic products and how to quickly identify them.
The national standard "Biodegradable Drinking Straws" specifies the terms and definitions, classification, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking, transportation and storage of biodegradable drinking straws. The release and implementation of this standard plays a guiding role in the production, design, material selection, and marketing of the fully biodegradable drinking straw industry. It is of great significance for products to have production standards to follow, standardize production, and ensure product quality.
