On May 28th, High Chemical Co., Ltd. announced that it has started to operate "polylactic acid (PLA) polyol" which is biologically derived and degradable. Its downstream product polyurethane can be used to manufacture car seats, coatings, synthetic leather, etc. It has a wide range of uses.
Polyurethane is a polymer compound formed by the reaction of polyol and isocyanate compound. It is often used to make cushioning materials inside car seats, sofas or pillows. In addition, by changing the formulation and molding of polyurethane, more properties can be obtained, not only in foams, rubber, coatings and adhesives, but also in elastane spandex (used in swimwear and underwear, etc.) and synthetic leather (for shoes, bags, etc.), widely responding to diverse needs from different industries.
