On February 19, 2025, Apple launched the new iPhone 16e model with optional storage capacities of 128GB, 256GB and 512GB. It will be available for pre-order on February 21 and officially released on February 28, with a starting price of 4,499 yuan.
Apple said that the design of iPhone 16e is aimed at protecting the environment. In order to achieve Apple's 2030 carbon neutrality goal, all its facilities now use 100% recycled electricity. The overall recycled materials used in iPhone 16e exceed 30%, including 100% recycled cobalt and 95% recycled lithium in the battery, and 85% recycled aluminum metal in the body.
In addition, the production efficiency of iPhone 16e motherboard and glass back panel is also higher, reducing the raw materials required. The packaging materials are all fiber-based materials, which has brought Apple one step closer to the goal of completely eliminating plastic packaging in 2025. This move has undoubtedly set a new benchmark for the industry.
