Dunhuang.com bans the sale of some single-use plastic products to EU countries
In June 2019, the European Union, the United Kingdom and other countries passed the Directive (EU) 2019/904 on reducing the environmental impact of single-use plastic products (https://eur-lex.europa.eu/eli/dir/2019/904/ oj), which aims to prevent and reduce the impact of certain plastic products on the environment, especially the water environment and human health, and promote the transition to a circular economy through innovative and sustainable business models, the Directive promotes the use of circular approach, prioritizing sustainable and non-toxic reusable products over single-use products, thereby reducing the amount of waste generated.
According to the regulations, from now on, the platform will prohibit the sale of the following single-use plastic products to the European Union, the United Kingdom (England), France, Italy, Spain and other countries.
Disposable plastic cotton swabs (except for medical use)
Disposable plastic tableware (forks, knives, spoons, chopsticks, etc.)
Disposable Plastic Plates
Disposable plastic straws (except for medical use)
Sticks to attach to and support balloons (except for industrial or other purpose balloons)
Food containers made of expanded polystyrene, including lids
Beverage containers made of expanded polystyrene, including lids
Drink cups made of expanded polystyrene, including lids
Any oxidatively decomposable plastic
Some single-use plastic products that are allowed to be sold must have obvious labels on the products or their packaging to guide consumers to dispose of waste products in an appropriate way and avoid littering. Such single-use plastic products include:
Sanitary napkins, tampons and other products
Wet wipes (i.e. personal care products and household wipes)
Tobacco products with filters and filters used in combination with tobacco products
Drink cups, etc.
