German cable company to switch to bio-based and biodegradable packaging in 2023
Rosenberger Optical Solutions & Infrastructure (Rosenberger OSI), a specialist in fiber optic connectivity, cabling solutions and infrastructure services, announced that its internal patch cord plastic packaging will switch to bio-based and bio-available in 2023 degrade polymers.
Its origins are an innovative project in which the company solves the problem of sustainable and ecologically sound packaging. The aim of this initiative is to replace the currently used plastic film with an environmentally friendly and resource efficient alternative.
Benjamin Weigand, Innovation Manager at Rosenberger OSI, said: “The introduction of biopolymer packaging on an industrial scale not only brings added value to our company. Our customers also report the importance of environmentally friendly solutions. Given the current discussions on sustainability , especially in the data center sector, and we are delighted to be able to contribute."
