Legislation in Shandong Province! Prohibition of restrictions on single-use plastic products, soliciting opinions on solid waste prevention and control regulations
On July 28, the Legislative Affairs Committee of the Standing Committee of the Shandong Provincial People's Congress announced the full text of the "Regulations on the Prevention and Control of Environmental Pollution by Solid Waste in Shandong Province (Draft)" for public comments and suggestions from all walks of life. The deadline for public comments is August 30, 2022.
The "Regulations (Draft)" requires that the production and use of fully biodegradable agricultural films be encouraged and supported, the promotion of bamboo and wood products, degradable plastics and other plastic substitutes, and the prohibition and restriction of the production, sale, and use of agricultural mulching films that do not meet the national standards. Plastic shopping bags, disposable plastic tableware, plastic cotton swabs and other plastic products, as well as daily chemical products containing plastic microbeads; fines of more than 10,000 yuan but not more than 100,000 yuan will be imposed for related violations.
