The new degradable composite paper packaging took more than two years from design, development, and production, and it will be officially launched in July 2023. The rejuvenated M&M'S packaging is made of degradable materials such as paper and PLA (polylactic acid), which can be degraded by more than 90% within 6 months (under the conditions of industrial composting), and will be decomposed into non-toxic water, carbon dioxide, etc. product. The new packaging also uses 55% less plastic than the old packaging, making it more environmentally friendly.
