A Japanese hotel has begun to use environmentally friendly glass made of PLA
On July 4, the Metropolitan Edmont Tokyo announced that from the beginning of July 2025, all guest rooms will introduce IZ GLASS, an environmentally friendly glass made of polylactic acid (PLA). This will provide guests with a more comfortable stay and help reduce the hotel's impact on the environment, making it a more environmentally friendly hotel.
The hotel has been actively promoting environmental initiatives. Reducing the use of single-use plastics has become a top priority, and we have been considering launching sustainable products that guests can reuse with peace of mind.
"IZ GLASS" is a petroleum-free plant-based material that is light, strong, durable, and can be used repeatedly. Its beautiful design is based on the theme of Aizu's natural scenery, such as foam snow, frost-covered trees, white snow, snow and moon, and snowmen, which blends with the atmosphere of the guest rooms and brings a pleasant experience to guests.
Main features of IZ GLASS
Environmentally friendly material: Plant-based material, reducing the impact on the environment. It can be disposed of as combustible garbage after use, and can also be composted.
Safe and durable: Lightweight and strong, it will not break even if it is accidentally dropped, making it suitable for tourists with children.
Functional: Heat-resistant to 50°C and cold-resistant to -20°C, it can be used in a wide range of applications.
Using IZ GLASS in all guest rooms is an important step in the hotel's commitment to environmental protection. In order to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society, we will continue to work hard to provide environmentally friendly services and encourage guests to raise environmental awareness.
