ANTA to release bio-based waterproof and highly permeable membrane
Recently, the ANTA membrane·high-performance self-developed technology fabric innovation exchange meeting was held in Xuhui Binjiang, Shanghai. The site presented a series of blockbuster products equipped with "ANTA membrane" technology: including the award-winning equipment of the Chinese sports delegation at the Harbin Asian Winter Games, ANTA's award-winning works at the 2024 Munich ISPO Outdoor Products Exhibition, and the Storm A series of products. At the same time, it was announced that the second-generation "ANTA membrane" AEROVENT ZERO using bio-based waterproof and highly permeable membrane will be officially released in the second half of 2025.
Under the influence of the defluorination reform of assault jackets, the performance of international mainstream waterproof and breathable membranes has shown a significant decline, while the second-generation "ANTA membrane" AEROVENT ZERO has outstanding performance, which is basically the same as the first-generation "ANTA membrane". After laboratory testing by many professional testing institutions at home and abroad, its waterproof and breathable performance has been comparable to the international mainstream ePE membrane, leading the outdoor industry. In addition to using bio-based waterproof and highly permeable membranes, "ANTA membranes" also adopt multiple technical paths for simultaneous research and development.
Defluorination of jackets is a systematic technological innovation. At present, in addition to upgrading the defluorination of the "ANTA membrane", the ANTA Storm A series of products also adopts defluorination treatment on the DWR water repellent. In terms of energy conservation and carbon reduction, in addition to using the second-generation "ANTA membrane" to replace traditional petroleum-based materials with bio-based materials, the new ANTA Storm A series is also equipped with other sustainable and environmentally friendly recycling technologies, such as recycled polyester, marine recycled nylon, and carbon capture polyester. Technologies effectively reduce carbon emissions in the production and manufacturing process, practice corporate social responsibility with practical actions, and promote sustainable outdoor development.
As a leading brand in China's sporting goods industry, ANTA has always insisted on in-depth layout in the field of independent technology for many years. In 2022, ANTA and Donghua University jointly established the "Donghua-ANTA Joint Innovation Institute". The two parties jointly developed China's first independently developed high-performance waterproof and breathable material "ANTA membrane", which broke the technical monopoly and price barriers of foreign brands in this field in one fell swoop, which is an important achievement of the school-enterprise cooperation model.
