On August 9, 2021, Minnesota, USA, the Cargill Group of the United States and Thailand’s PTT Global Chemical Company have formally approved NatureWorks to continue its global production expansion plan to establish a new Ingeo™ PLA integrated plant in Thailand.
The project has invested more than US$600 million to build a new integrated facility with an annual output of 75,000 tons, including the lactic acid, lactide and polymer production bases planned to begin construction in the second quarter of 2022. After the base is completed, it will become the world's first fully integrated PLA facility.
